Help Out! Get Involved! Have a Great Time!!!
 Volunteers
play a central role in supporting the services and
activities of the seventeen
public libraries in Brevard County, last year
providing almost 54,000 hours of service to
these vital local resources. And we'd love to have
YOU get involved! What kind of activities might
you help with? Depending on your interests and skills--and
the needs of the various libraries--you might be working
with children or senior citizens, serving as a Literacy
Volunteer, maintaining files and records, working
with computers, typing, making posters and displays,
and a whole lot more.
Curious about the time commitment required? The answer
varies depending on the type of assistance a library
needs. There are situations requiring short-term help
and others (if substantial training is provided) where
we hope you can provide a longer-term contribution.
Some of the libraries in our system participate in
a youth volunteer program, inviting pre-teens and
teen-agers (with parental permission) to join in volunteer
positions. Contact your library for details.
 How
will helping us help you? First, you'll be providing
valuable service to residents of Brevard County. And
you'll receive on-the-job training and probably learn
some new skills. Being part of a library will help
you develop job references. Plus, you'll receive public
acknowledgment of your support. And best of all, you'll
make new friends!
